ASA and its subsidiaries ("Norse Energy" or "the company") continued its exploration efforts offshore Brazil and onshore US while production was stable at around 5 000 BOE/day. In Brazil, Manati gas production was stable in the quarter with all six wells in production. The successful water injection in the Coral field continued in the second quarter, providing increased sales at record oil prices. In the US, momentum continues to build in the Appalachian Basin, and the company drilled successful wells in areas close to established production, step-out wells and exploration wells. The value of our acreage position increased significantly during the quarter as black shale formations, primarily the Marcellus shale, are proving to be very profitable. EBITDA for the quarter was USD 4.5 million after expensing USD 7.5 million of dry hole costs in Brazil. Second Quarter Highlights and Subsequent Events: · EBITDA for the second quarter was USD 4.5 million, down from USD 30.0 million in the first quarter (which included the gain on the sale of the Medina field assets). Dry hole costs in Brazil amounted to USD 7.5 million. Net loss for the second quarter was USD 40.1 million compared to a profit of USD 10.9 million in the previous quarter. Second quarter financials were significantly impacted by non-cash financial charges on our warrants of USD 34 million. · EBITDA for the first half of 2008 was USD 34.5 million compared to USD 8.4 million in the first half of 2007. Net loss in the first half of 2008 was USD 29.2 million compared to a net profit of USD 3.8 million in the first half of 2007. · In the US we have drilled a total of seven horizontal Herkimer wells with an additional three in progress. Further, ten vertical wells have been drilled targeting the Herkimer and/or Oneida/Oswego in addition to four deeper exploratory Theresa-Potsdam wells with one additional well currently drilling. o In the US, four wells came into production in the second quarter. o Several large third-party acreage transactions during the quarter have solidified the value of our acreage position in the US. o Limited additional acreage was added during the quarter as leases for the most part now exceeded USD 2 000 per acre. · Brazil saw record operating profit from Coral due to successful water injection. o AGR Group Study on Cavalo Marinho - 2P reserves of 21.9 MMBOE vs. Gaffney Cline 12.0 MMBOE. o BM-CAL 6 Peroba - dry hole. o BM-CAL 5 Copaiba - Spudded July 3rd, currently drilling. o Risked exploration potential (risked at 21%) including the Round 9 bid assets evaluated at 77 MMBOE. felis Posted september 18, 2008 Report Share Posted september 18, 2008 HERLIG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 18/09-2008 15:21:11: (NEC) SIGNIFICANT HERKIMER GAS DISCOVERIES - APPALACHIAN BASIN US SIGNIFICANT HERKIMER GAS DISCOVERIES - APPALACHIAN BASIN US SIGNIFICANT HERKIMER GAS DISCOVERIES - APPALACHIAN BASIN US Norse Energy Corp. ASA ("NEC" ticker code OSE - NEC, Oslo, Norway, U.S OTC symbol "NSEEF") announced today the successful completion of its latest two wells in the Herkimer Formation in central New York State. Production rates for each well approached one million cubic feet (178 BOE) per day and possible further increases were restrained by the capacity of the production equipment. "We now have on order larger capacity production equipment so that the encouraging geology of the area is allowed to demonstrate its full potential", comments Norse CEO Øivind Risberg. At present, Norse continues to conservatively estimate average reserves of 1.2 billion cubic feet (214,000 BOE) per well. With 250 identified locations, the projected reserve potential is in excess of three hundred billion cubic feet (53 MMBOE) in the Herkimer Formation alone. "We are looking at the tip of the iceberg", says Risberg. "The potential of the Herkimer formation should also be coupled with the potential in the Marcellus and Utica shale formations underlying much of our land position of more than 130,000 acres in central New York." Other factors worthy of note are the following: . the relatively shallow depth of the targeted formations; . the gas is of high quality and essentially ready for market; . our infrastructure is in place with nearby access to a large utility company and major pipelines; and . the opportunity for premium pricing due to the relative close proximity to attractive markets in the Northeast U. felis Posted oktober 28, 2008 Report Share Posted oktober 28, 2008 Enda en godmelding fra USA: 28/10-2008 08:16:59: (NEC) Herkimer Gas Field Update Herkimer Gas Field Update Norse Energy Corp. ASA ("NEC" ticker code OSE - NEC, Oslo, Norway, U.S OTC symbol "NSEEF") HERKIMER GAS FIELD UPDATE Norse Energy announces the completion of its 12 inch plastic pipeline which connects two existing sales points. The new pipeline capacity is 15 000 Mcf per day, with the potential of upgrading for additional capacity. This connection should add significant production growth from our proven Herkimer field which we estimate to yield 0.5 Tcf of gas. The Herkimer field also has the potential to access two additional interstate pipelines both feeding the New York City metropolitan area, which is only 120 miles away. With this important milestone behind us and the incurred costly infrastructure investment, our focus is on developing our profitable Herkimer play. The last five horizontal Herkimer wells drilled, of which two has been announced in a separate press release, continue to yield economical return exceeding our expectations. The latest horizontal Herkimer well has an initial flow rate similar to the two wells previously announced on September 18th of one million cubic feet (178 BOE) per day. Given today's gas price, our payback time is around a year. Drilling cost has come down, and the last two horizontal Herkimer wells will cost us less then one million USD. Norse has previously estimated average reserves for the Herkimer at 1.2 billion cubic feet (214 000 BOE) per well. The Company has previously announced to have 250 seismically identified locations in the Herkimer formations with a likelihood of direct offset of another 250 locations on the Companys 130 000 acreage located closer to New York City than any other producing gas fields in United States. Norse Energy has now moved from the exploration phase to a full scale development play with all attention to convert Herkimer resources into producing reserves. The development play with access to pipeline should provide the Company with additional financial flexibility going forward. Current production is 4 500 Mcf per day with an additional 2 000 Mcf per day awaiting pipeline connection. Our production prior to the Jamestown Medina divestiture was 5 900 Mcf. CORPORATE UPDATE Norse Energy's CEO Øivind Risberg also commented that "...it is comfortable to know that our exploration efforts have proven not only our Herkimer play but have resulted in strong interest in our Marcellus & Utica shale play. Our resource potential of likely more than 2 Tcf of gas close to New York City, the highest priced gas market in the United States, and with access to three interstate pipelines, has attracted a lot of interest from industrial E&P company's looking for an entry to the shale play. The Company is well positioned to take advantage of the strong industrial asset market we have seen in the USA but also in Brazil." felis Posted november 7, 2008 Report Share Posted november 7, 2008 Som kjent har NEC spennende letevirksomhet både i USA og Brasil. EL Paso er en av partnerene til NEC her og holdt en presentasjon igår. her ble det sagt: On an exploratory drilling front Petrobras has not ye announced the progress on our Petrobras-operated Copaiba well. That’s located in BM-CAL-5 block, which is south of our PinaAna field or on our Petrobras operated top well it’s drilling in the ES-5 block, which is the same block as Bia, or the Camarupim block. And I don’t want to get too far ahead of our partners there, but the results are pretty exciting. We are about to flow test or production test the Copaiba well, and we are encouraged enough with the drilling results for logs, that we are continuing to drill on the Tat well. So, we will have more good news I think on those wells soon.
felis Posted november 13, 2008 Report Share Posted november 13, 2008 Fra E24: Ser stor oppside i Norse StatoilHydros kjøp av gassfelt i USA synliggjør verdiene i Norse, mener analytikere. Onsdag ettermiddag omsettes Norse-aksjen for 4,42 kroner.
ASA ("NEC" ticker code OSE - NEC, Oslo, Norway, U.S OTC symbol "NSEEF") Norse Energy Corp. ASA (18,33%), in partnership with Petrobras (Operator), Queiroz Galvão Oil & Gas and El Paso, announce a discovery in the Copaíba exploration well in the BM-CAL-5 block, Camamu-Almada Basin. On November 25th the Operator completed the drilling and flow test of the 1-BRSA-637D-BAS (1-BAS-140D) well in 492 meters water depth. The well reached 3,283 meter of total depth. The well confirmed the presence of oil bearing sandstone reservoir with 21% porosity, without identifying any oil water contact in this interval. The flow test conducted in the 2,755-2,773 meter interval confirmed the presence of 32o API oil. Tests results are under analysis together with other geological and geophysical data. In accordance with the established Concession Agreement, the extension and commerciality of the discovery will be appraised in an "Evaluation Plan" to be submitted to ANP. Norse Energy CEO Øivind Risberg commented that "It is very encouraging that we now have established a light oil discovery in the Camamu-Almada Basin, even though net pay may be lower than our pre-drill estimate. However, it is still too early to provide accurate information about the size of the discovery, and we look forward to the appraisal process". vidar Posted desember 11, 2008 Report Share Posted desember 11, 2008 Hva mener du med dette vidar? Noe sier meg at du må ha jobbet i bransjen.. Noe sier meg at du må ha jobbet i bransjen..
