gullpinnen Posted februar 7, 2005 Report Share Posted februar 7, 2005 Denne skal være Ny (Feb. 2005) The problem is to make recycling convenient. As more and more single-serve drinks are purchased away from the home, it’s a serious challenge to make recycling available wherever beverages are consumed. In this regard, we believe that our new program with TOMRA, the supplier of reverse vending machines (RVMs), can have a real impact in education and health care. RVMs can be placed wherever beverages are consumed, and because they separate and crush containers as they are recycled, they reduce the cost of collection and processing. As this is written, we’re placing our first machines with IRN members. If you’re interested in exploring this option, please contact the office for more information. In line with its futuristic vision and inspired by late president H.H. Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al-Nahyan ambitions embodied in his own words “We exert every possible effort to cater for environmental and wildlife, not only for our sake but also for the generations to come”. Emarat attach a great concern for the environment in which it conducts business and strongly focus on environmental issues and as results registering high profile presence at the recent “sustainable Transportation in Developing Countries Conference and Exhibition” held in Abu Dhabi. The event, being held for the third consecutive year in the capital of the U.A.E., under the patronage of the UAE President H.H. Sh. Khalifa Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, is firmly established as the largest and most exclusive Exhibition and Conference on Environment in the Middle East, North Africa and the Subcontinent. At total of 2000 companies, and many ministers, government official/ health environment researchers, transport and development delegates attended the 3 days Environment conference and exhibition. Hussain Kazim, Emarat's Manager, Corporate Communications, said: “The Environment 2005 Conference and Exhibition highlighted the determined efforts the UAE is making to support conservation and environment protection initiatives. "Emarat is committed to supporting the UAE’s policy of placing environmental issues at the top of the agenda and to emphasise their role in sustaining economic progress nationally, regionally and globally. We have to preserve and maintain the environment to secure a decent life for the people of our nations.” Emarat supports numerous environmental projects and is committed to the ideal of a healthy and clean environment. Its corporate social responsibility policies reflect this commitment and has led to initiatives such as the installation of 30 reverse vending machines in 16 of the corporation’s service stations, with others soon to be installed. This technology was displayed at Emarat's stand at the exhibition and demonstrated its ability to grant in-kind prizes from the commodities and products available at Emarat’s stores. Customers are rewarded when they dispose of plastic, bags and empty bottles and cans by putting them inside the machines. The units identify the items, determine which category of waste they belong to, and offer suitable prizes. Link

Mustica Posted februar 8, 2005 Report Share Posted februar 8, 2005 Australia - SA promotes container deposit laws Sør-Australia er eneste fylke/delstat i Australia som har pant. http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/20050...02/s1298559.htm Last Update: Tuesday, February 8, 2005. 5:13pm (AEDT) SA promotes container deposit laws South Australia is urging other states to adopt container deposit laws, 30 years after their introduction in the state. South Australia's Environment Minister John Hill says the deposit system promotes recycling. Of the all rubbish collected on Clean-up Australia Day last year, less than 10 per cent in South Australia was beverage containers although such containers made up about 40 per cent of the rubbish nationally. Mr Hill says that speaks for itself. "Nowhere else in Australia has picked it up... there are various states in America and parts of Europe that have it and it works well in all of those jurisdictions," Mr Hill said. "It would work well across all of Australia, and it would sort out a lot of the problems that [clean-up chairman] Ian Kiernan spends a lot of effort every year trying to deal with because they wouldn't end up in the landscape, they would end up in proper recycling facilities." This year's Clean-Up Australia Day is on Sunday March 6. Demningen brister. :bom: :bom: :bom:

Man braucht eben viel Geduld. rough translation: To understand is not in truth! Tomra supplies a positive message after the other one - and falls. Tomra has well filled cashes - and falls. Tomra has best future prospects - and falls. On the other hand: An enterprise such as OPC - those do not supply a bad message after the other one, have cash, have miserable future prospects. Falls yesterday after bad messages - and continues to rise today already again merrily. Some say: Jaaa - many burned themselves and are now overcautious at Tomra the fingers. Can be. But how many have themselves at OPC the fingers burned - and OPC are likewise punished? I must admit: I do not understand it! But I am safe: also the investors will understand sometime, what for a bead Tomra is. One needs evenly much patience.
Dette avsnittet er fra Tomra-magasinet "Return" i 2003: "Emarat may expand the concept further within its network of over 180 service stations in the UAE." Og IGÅR kom denne meldingen: Hussain Kazim, Emarat's Manager, Corporate Communications, said: Its corporate social responsibility policies reflect this commitment and has led to initiatives such as the installation of 30 reverse vending machines in 16 of the corporation’s service stations, with others soon to be installed. http://www.emarat.ae/about/fullstory.php?i...urrentItem=true Siste setning i sitat over kan tyde på at Emarat har tenkt å gjøre alvor av sine planer, om å utplasser TOM-automater på 180 bensinstasjoner til (altså 360 RVM).
postjens Posted februar 8, 2005 Report Share Posted februar 8, 2005 Hei Benny! At least we now understand why TOM has been falling this morning! I think it'll be tensing to see the discussion of these numbers here at the forum! "EARNINGS POLL-Tomra Q4 EBIT seen down 27 pct Published: 14:09, 8.feb.2005 By Richard Solem OSLO, Feb 8 (Reuters) - Norwegian bottle and can recycling machine maker Tomra is expected to report a 27 percent fall in operating profit in the fourth quarter, hit by slowing sales and increased competition, a Reuters poll showed on Tuesday. Tomra's earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) were seen at 66 million Norwegian crowns ($10.17 million), according to the average estimate from 12 analysts. Forecasts ranged between 45 million and 90 million crowns. Some analysts said they were concerned that increased competition from Germany's Wincor Nixdorf had led to lower prices and hurt margins. Sales were seen falling to 680 million crowns from 712 million in the year-earlier period, implying a fall in the operating margin to 9.7 percent from 12.7 percent. Tomra is due to report its results on Feb. 15. GERMAN RETAILERS EYED Analysts said the main focus for Tomra in 2005 would be the timing of large orders in Germany, widely regarded as a key market for Tomra. Tomra, which makes machines that accept cans and bottles for recycling, hopes German retailers will start investing in such equipment on a large scale this year. Years of political wrangling about Germany's future deposit scheme came to an end in December, when the German upper house of parliament voted in favour of a unified nationwide system for collecting non-refillable drinks containers. During 2004, Tomra sales were moderate in Germany. The national German deposit system is expected to be in place from May 2006, analysts said. The average and mean expectation among the analysts was for Tomra to start receiving orders from German retail chains in the second quarter this year, while the most optimistic analyst thought orders would be placed during the first quarter. "If they don't receive any such orders in Q2, I will have to cut my estimates for 2005," one analyst with a "buy" rating on Tomra shares said. One of the analysts did not expect any announcement about orders from German retailers until the fourth quarter of 2005. Following is a summary of estimates for fourth-quarter results (figures in millions of Norwegian crowns, except earnings per share in crowns): .............................AVERAGE...HIGH...LOW...MEDIAN...Q4 2003...NO Operating revenues 680............766......645......667.........711.6........12 EBITDA................104............136......79........105.........133.9....... .11 EBIT.....................66..............90.......45.........65...........90.6.. .......12 Pretax profit..........73...............99.......64.........71...........96.9.........1 2 Net profit...............41..............50.......37.........41...........35.0...... ....11 EPS Q4...............0.24............0.32.....0.21......0.23.........0.19.........12 EPS 2004............0.88............1.13.....0.71......0.88......................... 11 EPS 2005............1.78............2.10.....1.08......1.99......................... 7 EPS 2006............2.39............3.50.....1.40......2.38......................... 7 NOTES: - "NO" denotes number of estimates - The following brokerages participated in the poll (share recommendations in parenthesis): ABG Sundal Collier Buy Carnegie Neutral Danske Bank Buy DnB NOR Markets Buy Enskilda Securities Reduce First Securities Buy Fondsfinans Hold Handelsbanken Capital Markets Accumulate Kaupthing Buy Norse Securities Buy Pareto Securities N/A Terra Securities Buy ((Editing by Clelia Oziel; +47 2293 6971; richard.solem@reuters.com; Reuters Messaging richard.solem.reuters.com@reuters.net)) ($1=6.490 Norwegian Crown)"
